Place of residence: Occupation: Other wives: Folk Texts and Records for: William K. (Bill) Wm. K. (Bill) was buried in a field in New York. His grave marker is in the New York State Historical Society. His name is engraved on a monument at the Brooklyn Arsenal in New York, erected in 1906, the year after Bill's death. Bill was buried in an unmarked grave at the New York Military Cemetery in Syracuse. Other records have been lost, and Bill is not listed on any obituaries. There are many tales about Bill, and while his birth is not verified, his death on March 13, 1845, makes him likely to be James K. He may have died before November 19, 1790. This death coincides with that of Colonel Samuel D. K., who was President of the Society of Friends in 1789. Both men were buried at the same location. There is a story behind this story, and I will mention it. John Dennison, a Newbury, Massachusetts man, had a daughter of his named Emily D. Dennison. Emily had married Samuel Dennison on December 19, 1795, but she left him a year later. This left him to raise his daughter, “Emily Dennison,” alone. Emily was one of the most beautiful women in town. She was well-behaved, and she kept a regular school and home-care. She was described as “a perfect daughter.” After Emily's divorce, one of her sisters had him incarcerated in the Newbury prison. When his wife heard of his detention she did the only thing left her. He was placed in the Newbury prison for good behavior until Emily's sister's sister could pay an appointed visit. So Emily Dennison got her mother an extra ticket out of Newbury. When she reached the Boston home that her sister had just left, her mother had Emily Dennison's hand in her pocket. She had come with a bill for the visit, and that was that. There is a great deal of mystery surrounding this and the stories of the Newbury jail. The Newbury Historical Society has a story on this subject; it reads in part, “When the Boston family moved West, with the birth of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, William K. was taken from the Newbury prison in South Boston to the Newbury Hospital and the State Reformatory.

Instructions and Help about blank family group sheets printable form
Hello, now we are going to discuss how to use a family group sheet when doing genealogical research. For each person on your ancestor chart, you will want to create a family group sheet. Although you may wonder why you need to record information about an ancestor’s siblings, doing so allows you to gather information about other people in your ancestor’s community that may be of value later. Sometimes brick walls in research are overcome by studying the families connected to a direct ancestor. Family group sheets will also help you compile a complete family history. A family group sheet should show basic information about a single family, including major life events and relationships. It should also allow you to see at a glance what information you have and what else you need to find. Begin with the father and mother. Record for each, if you can, full name, date and place of birth, date and place of marriage, date and place of death, burial location, names of parents, and names of other spouses if applicable. Next add the children. Record them in birth order, with number one being the oldest. Include name, date and place of birth, date and place of death, marriage date or dates and place, as well as, the spouse’s name. Be sure to include your name along with the date you created the document. Also, be sure to cite sources of information that you used to identify family members and their life events. Now that you have an ancestor chart and family group sheet, we hope that you have a better picture of an ancestor’s life. As you continue your research, remember to gather family group sheet information for each generation in your family lines. Contact us if you have questions about family group sheets. Thank you.
